Hey!!!! Glad you chose to stop in and check out our youth homepage. My name is Rick Rosati and I’m the youth pastor here at Bloomingdale Alliance Church. I’ve been at Bloomingdale since 2006, and have loved every bit of it. It’s great being part of what God’s doing here, and I would invite you to come on out and check us out sometime. We meet at 6:30 pm on Wed. nights and there’s usually something interesting going on Sunday nights too, so make sure you either check us out or give us a call. For those of you interested in reading more, here’s a little bit about what we do and who we are:
What We're About... Wednesday Nights "The Fire Escape" as we call it is an awesome and fun experience. We play games, hangout, pray and learn from God's word together. But wouldn't you think that if people are struggling with questions, hurt, and sometimes just trying to find out who they really are. While others are really trying to learn about God, grow in their relationship with Him, wouldn't there be more to it than fun and games? THERE IS!!! And that's really what we're about. The "MORE" part of it if you will. The world is searching for answers, but usually doesn't search in the right place, so we've tried to become that place! --- Sunday Nights "Fired up" kicks off every Sunday night at 6:30. At times this is a deeper time of discussion, worship, and interaction. Other times it's meeting in homes for fellowship, prayer, and a dose of God's word. For an update of what we are doing or where we are meeting call the church office at 912 748 6351 and ask for Pastor Rick.
Service There's always opportunities to get involved as well, whether it's within the student leadership realm with peer ministry or up and out ministry, working in the community and the church as an example of Christ through a service project, or maybe even a mission trip. Maybe you have a project that you could use some help with, let us know how we can serve you. Their always an opportunity for you to have a bigger part to play in God's ingdom, is just matter of whether or not we see them, and what we do with them.
One Last Thought...When Was The Last Time... ...You asked yourself "What have you done for God lately?" I recently heard a sermon on Luke 15, the parable of the "lost son", if you haven't read it recently you may want to look it over so you know what I'm talking about. But when the lost son comes home, you have the older brother who really doesn't want anything do with the younger one. The fathers response to the older brother was that "all I have is yours, but your brothers come home". The preacher explained that although the older son enjoyed the benefits of the father and the presence of the father, he didn't have the heart of the father. Many times we become like the older brother, although we enjoy all the benefits of the church as well as a relationship with God, we neglect the responsibilities that come with those benefits. The reason why is similar to that of the older brothers, we don't have the heart of the father, and as a result we have a heart issue that needs to be dealt with. As a youth pastor, I see far too often that its not a matter of what a student is or isn't doing, behaving, etc. but rather the real issue is the why, what's behind the action? Is it pain/hurt from an incident at home or school, or is it flat our rebellion because of lack of understanding? Next time when you see the question of "what have you done for God lately" instead of going down your list of what you have or haven't done, ask yourself why and see whether or not you have the heart of the father or are only enjoying the benefits and presence.
